CURRENT INTERESTS, PASSIONS, AND ORGANIZATIONS

Traditional music, particularly Québecois and Irish music on fiddle and flute. Singing traditional songs, particularly sea shanties and “pub songs.” American contra and English country dancing, morris dance (an English form of street theater), and playing music for such dances. Organizing music and dance events for the Baltimore Folk Music Society.
Classical music, particularly opera. Playing violin, and, since retiring, taking classical voice lessons.

LIFE SINCE GRADUATION

After Williams I studied medicine at Cornell University Medical College, where I met the love of my life, Diane. We married when I graduated from med school in 1976, and we moved to Baltimore, where I did my residency in internal medicine. Although it felt like going off the end of the earth to leave Manhattan, we found that we loved Baltimore and have stayed here ever since. We raised three wonderful children, who, we are happy to say, share our passion for music and dance. I practiced internal medicine until retiring in June 2018. Some orthopedic problems and then the pandemic have put a damper on our plans since then, but we are hoping to do a lot more dancing and perhaps some traveling when this is possible.
